Tomato & Beef Pasta Sauce

Breakdown

Processed · 1 ingredient to watch

Trader Joe's Tomato & Beef Pasta Sauce scores 92/100 on Tallow — our clean band. That number comes from what is on the label: the ingredients, how processed it is, and what it is packaged in. It is not a verdict on your diet — Tallow does not weigh calories, portion size or how often you eat it, so a high score means the ingredients are clean, not that the food is unlimited.

Trader Joe's Tomato & Beef Pasta Sauce lists 16 ingredients, starting with Peeled Tomatoes In Puree, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Cooked Ground Beef, Tomato Paste and Onion. Ingredients are listed in descending order by weight, so the first few make up most of what you are eating.

At 92/100 Trader Joe's Tomato & Beef Pasta Sauce sits in our top band, among the better pasta & cooking sauces we have scored. A higher-scoring option in pasta & cooking sauces is Simply Nature Organic Tomato & Basil Pasta Sauce at 100/100.
