Pure Vanilla Extract

Breakdown

Ultra-processed · 1 ingredient to avoid

Morton & Bassett Spices Pure Vanilla Extract scores 44/100 on Tallow — our okay band. That number comes from what is on the label: the ingredients, how processed it is, and what it is packaged in. It is not a verdict on your diet — Tallow does not weigh calories, portion size or how often you eat it, so a high score means the ingredients are clean, not that the food is unlimited.

Morton & Bassett Spices Pure Vanilla Extract lists 3 ingredients, starting with Water, Alcohol and Vanilla Bean Extractions. Ingredients are listed in descending order by weight, so the first few make up most of what you are eating.

At 44/100 Morton & Bassett Spices Pure Vanilla Extract lands mid-scale — below the typical score in baking ingredients, but clear of the bottom band. A higher-scoring option in baking ingredients is King Arthur Baking Company Organic Unbleached All-Purpose Flour at 100/100.
