Pepito Corn Tortillas

Breakdown

Ultra-processed · 2 ingredients to avoid

Mission Pepito Corn Tortillas scores 62/100 on Tallow — our okay band. That number comes from what is on the label: the ingredients, how processed it is, and what it is packaged in. It is not a verdict on your diet — Tallow does not weigh calories, portion size or how often you eat it, so a high score means the ingredients are clean, not that the food is unlimited.

Mission Pepito Corn Tortillas lists 7 ingredients, starting with Corn Masa Flour, Water, Cellulose Gum, Guar Gum and Propionic Acid. Ingredients are listed in descending order by weight, so the first few make up most of what you are eating.

At 62/100 Mission Pepito Corn Tortillas lands mid-scale — below the typical score in tortillas & wraps, but clear of the bottom band. A higher-scoring option in tortillas & wraps is Margarita's Stone Ground Corn Tortillas at 100/100.
