Breakdown

Ultra-processed · 6 ingredients to avoid

Essential Everyday Country Gravy Mix scores 5/100 on Tallow — our avoid band. That number comes from what is on the label: the ingredients, how processed it is, and what it is packaged in. Per serving it carries 0g fiber, 0g protein and 11g sugar. It is not a verdict on your diet — Tallow does not weigh calories, portion size or how often you eat it, so a high score means the ingredients are clean, not that the food is unlimited.

Essential Everyday Country Gravy Mix lists 14 ingredients, starting with Corn Syrup Solids, Food Starch - Modified, Wheat Flour, Partially Hydrogenated Soybean and/Or Cottonseed Oil and Salt. Ingredients are listed in descending order by weight, so the first few make up most of what you are eating.

417 kcal per serving, or 4630 kcal per 100g. Calories are only part of the picture — Tallow scores Essential Everyday Country Gravy Mix on what the ingredients are, not how many calories they carry.

At 5/100 Essential Everyday Country Gravy Mix scores worse than most pasta & cooking sauces we have scored. A higher-scoring option in pasta & cooking sauces is Simply Nature Organic Tomato & Basil Pasta Sauce at 100/100.
