Original Plant Chicken Pieces

Breakdown

Ultra-processed · 2 ingredients to avoid

Daring Original Plant Chicken Pieces scores 62/100 on Tallow — our okay band. That number comes from what is on the label: the ingredients, how processed it is, and what it is packaged in. It is not a verdict on your diet — Tallow does not weigh calories, portion size or how often you eat it, so a high score means the ingredients are clean, not that the food is unlimited.

Daring Original Plant Chicken Pieces lists 12 ingredients, starting with Water, Soy Protein Concentrate, Sunflower Oil, Salt and Natural Flavor. Ingredients are listed in descending order by weight, so the first few make up most of what you are eating.

At 62/100 Daring Original Plant Chicken Pieces lands mid-scale — below the typical score in meat alternatives, but clear of the bottom band. A higher-scoring option in meat alternatives is Bob's Red Mill Textured Vegetable Protein at 97/100.
