Dannon Plain Whole Milk Yogurt

Breakdown

1 ingredient to avoid

Dannon Plain Whole Milk Yogurt scores 52/100 on Tallow — our okay band. That number comes from what is on the label: the ingredients, how processed it is, and what it is packaged in. It is not a verdict on your diet — Tallow does not weigh calories, portion size or how often you eat it, so a high score means the ingredients are clean, not that the food is unlimited.

Dannon Plain Whole Milk Yogurt lists 4 ingredients, starting with Cultured Grade a Milk, Live & Active Yogurt Cultures S. Thermophilus, L. Bulgaricus and Lacidophilus. Ingredients are listed in descending order by weight, so the first few make up most of what you are eating.

At 52/100 Dannon Plain Whole Milk Yogurt lands mid-scale — below the typical score in yogurt, but clear of the bottom band. A higher-scoring option in yogurt is Kirkland Signature Organic Greek Yogurt Plain Nonfat at 100/100.
