Organic Non-Dairy Rice Beverage

Breakdown

Ultra-processed · 1 ingredient to avoid

Trader Joe's Organic Non-Dairy Rice Beverage scores 66/100 on Tallow — our okay band. That number comes from what is on the label: the ingredients, how processed it is, and what it is packaged in. It is not a verdict on your diet — Tallow does not weigh calories, portion size or how often you eat it, so a high score means the ingredients are clean, not that the food is unlimited.

Trader Joe's Organic Non-Dairy Rice Beverage lists 8 ingredients, starting with Organic Hydrolyzed Rice, Sea Salt, Ergocalciferol (Vitamin D2), Cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12) and Water. Ingredients are listed in descending order by weight, so the first few make up most of what you are eating.

At 66/100 Trader Joe's Organic Non-Dairy Rice Beverage lands mid-scale — below the typical score in dairy-alternative milks, but clear of the bottom band. A higher-scoring option in dairy-alternative milks is Califia Farms Organic Unsweetened Coconut Milk at 100/100.
