Tangy Original Juice

Breakdown

Ultra-processed · 9 ingredients to avoid

Sunny D Tangy Original Juice scores 5/100 on Tallow — our avoid band. That number comes from what is on the label: the ingredients, how processed it is, and what it is packaged in. Per serving it carries 0g fiber, 0g protein and 11g sugar. It is not a verdict on your diet — Tallow does not weigh calories, portion size or how often you eat it, so a high score means the ingredients are clean, not that the food is unlimited.

Sunny D Tangy Original Juice lists 23 ingredients, starting with Water, High Fructose Corn Syrup and 2% Or Less Of: Concentrated Orange Juice, Concentrated Tangerine Juice, Concentrated Apple Juice and Concentrated Limes Juice. Ingredients are listed in descending order by weight, so the first few make up most of what you are eating.

50 kcal per serving, or 25 kcal per 100ml. Calories are only part of the picture — Tallow scores Sunny D Tangy Original Juice on what the ingredients are, not how many calories they carry.

At 5/100 Sunny D Tangy Original Juice scores worse than most juices we have scored. A higher-scoring option in juices is Trader Joe's Organic 100% Sicilian Lemon Juice at 100/100.
