Sports drink

Breakdown

Ultra-processed · 2 ingredients to avoid

Sports drink scores 50/100 on Tallow — our okay band. That number comes from what is on the label: the ingredients, how processed it is, and what it is packaged in. It is not a verdict on your diet — Tallow does not weigh calories, portion size or how often you eat it, so a high score means the ingredients are clean, not that the food is unlimited.

Sports drink lists 9 ingredients, starting with Citric Acid, Mono-potassium Phosphate, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Citrate and Orange Flavour. Ingredients are listed in descending order by weight, so the first few make up most of what you are eating.

At 50/100 Sports drink lands mid-scale — below the typical score in electrolyte supplements, but clear of the bottom band. A higher-scoring option in electrolyte supplements is Trace Minerals ConcenTrace Trace Mineral Drops at 100/100.
