Common questions

Is NOW Foods Solutions Shea Butter healthy?

NOW Foods Solutions Shea Butter scores 100/100 on Tallow — our clean band. That number comes from what is on the label: the ingredients, how processed it is, and what it is packaged in. It is not a verdict on your diet — Tallow does not weigh calories, portion size or how often you eat it, so a high score means the ingredients are clean, not that the food is unlimited.

What is in NOW Foods Solutions Shea Butter?

NOW Foods Solutions Shea Butter lists 1 ingredient, starting with Butyrospermum Parkii Butter. Ingredients are listed in descending order by weight, so the first few make up most of what you are eating.

Does NOW Foods Solutions Shea Butter contain seed oils?

No. Nothing in NOW Foods Solutions Shea Butter’s ingredient list matches a seed oil — canola, soybean, corn, cottonseed, grapeseed, sunflower, safflower, rice bran or peanut oil, or an unspecified "vegetable oil".

How processed is NOW Foods Solutions Shea Butter?

NOW Foods Solutions Shea Butter has no NOVA group. Tallow works NOVA out from the ingredient list, and it does not apply to supplements or non-food products; a food whose ingredients are not all classified yet stays unknown instead of being guessed. Either way the processing axis scores it neutrally.

How does NOW Foods Solutions Shea Butter compare to other body lotion?

At 100/100 NOW Foods Solutions Shea Butter sits in our top band, among the better body lotion we have scored.

Is NOW Foods Solutions Shea Butter organic?

Yes. NOW Foods Solutions Shea Butter carries USDA Organic certification, which is worth +5 points in the score above.
