Breakdown

Ultra-processed · 2 ingredients to avoid

Huy Fong Foods Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce, 28 oz scores 57/100 on Tallow — our okay band. That number comes from what is on the label: the ingredients, how processed it is, and what it is packaged in. It is not a verdict on your diet — Tallow does not weigh calories, portion size or how often you eat it, so a high score means the ingredients are clean, not that the food is unlimited.

Huy Fong Foods Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce, 28 oz lists 8 ingredients, starting with Chili, Sugar, Salt, Garlic and Acetic Acid. Ingredients are listed in descending order by weight, so the first few make up most of what you are eating.

At 57/100 Huy Fong Foods Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce, 28 oz lands mid-scale — below the typical score in hot sauce, but clear of the bottom band. A higher-scoring option in hot sauce is Louisiana Original Hot Sauce at 95/100.
