Barney Butter Bare Smooth Almond Butter

Breakdown

Processed · 1 ingredient to avoid

Barney Butter Bare Smooth Almond Butter scores 55/100 on Tallow — our okay band. That number comes from what is on the label: the ingredients, how processed it is, and what it is packaged in. It is not a verdict on your diet — Tallow does not weigh calories, portion size or how often you eat it, so a high score means the ingredients are clean, not that the food is unlimited.

Barney Butter Bare Smooth Almond Butter lists 2 ingredients, starting with Blanched Roasted Almonds and Palm Fruit Oil. Ingredients are listed in descending order by weight, so the first few make up most of what you are eating.

At 55/100 Barney Butter Bare Smooth Almond Butter lands mid-scale — below the typical score in nut & seed butters, but clear of the bottom band. A higher-scoring option in nut & seed butters is Good & Gather Organic Stir Crunchy Peanut Butter at 100/100.
