What the score is made of

Four categories, weighted. Seed oils count three times as much as plastics or ultra-processing, so a poor seed-oil score pulls the overall number down hardest.

  • Seed oil3× weight75
  • Additives2× weight50
  • Plastics0.5× weight
  • NOVA0.5× weight50

Plastics has no ratings yet and count as 0 toward the overall score — an unproven category isn’t a free pass.

What reviewers said

Canola oil shows up in 18 of Pokeworks' 114 items, all of them the chicken, chili-crisp, teriyaki and shoyu builds, while the plain raw-fish bowls stay clean, so a seed-oil-free order is easy. Only one item in every published statement carries an additive, though half their components publish no statement at all.

Rated 2026-08-28 from Pokeworks' own Nutritionix INM data feed at https://nix-vue-inm.s3.amazonaws.com/restaurant/pokeworks/data/menu-latest.json.gz (39,742 bytes gzip, 696,054 decompressed, generatedAt 2026-07-24), found by grepping pokeworks.com/nutrition for "nix-vue-inm". This is a different host from nutritionix.com and was unaffected by that site's outage tonight. All 114 items[] have an empty ingredientStatement; the real content is in modifiers[], 58 of 117 populated, mapped to items via items[].defaultModifiers[]. Seed oils: canola named in 13 components, resolving to 18 of 114 items in default build. No soybean, sunflower, safflower, corn, cottonseed, grapeseed or rice bran anywhere. Sesame oil is in 27 of 58 statements including every raw protein; noted, not counted. IMPORTANT LIMIT: 59 components publish no statement, so 18/114 is a proven floor, not a ceiling.
