Pizza Hut discloses everything and it is damning: 621 of 639 menu rows contain a seed oil and 633 contain an artificial additive, with the pan the pizza bakes in filled with soybean oil and TBHQ. No pizza, pasta, wing or breadstick is seed-oil-free, and the only clean rows are packets, dipping sauces and fountain drinks.
Pizza Hut publishes an ingredient statement for every item and the disclosure is brutal. 621 of 639 rows contain a seed oil and 633 of 639 contain an artificial additive. The Pan Oil that pan pizzas are baked in reads, verbatim, "SOYBEAN OIL, TBHQ ADDED TO PROTECT FRESHNESS." TBHQ appears in 381 of the 639 rows, soybean oil in 595, sodium stearoyl lactylate in 195. Not one pizza, pasta, wing or breadstick escapes. The only 18 rows without a seed oil are the two Honey BBQ wing sauce rows, the crushed red pepper packet, the grated cheese packet, four dipping sauces (Barbeque, Buffalo, Extra Pizza BBQ, Marinara), seven fountain drinks and the cinnamon sticks icing cup. Only two rows in the entire menu are free of both a seed oil and an additive: the crushed red pepper packet and the marinara dipping sauce. There is nothing here to order around.
