Jason's Deli publishes a genuine 250-item ingredient statement, which is rare, and it shows soybean or canola oil in the mayonnaise, nearly every dressing and nearly every bread - though there is no fryer anywhere on the menu. Their well-known pledges on trans fat, dyes, MSG and HFCS do hold up, but carrageenan, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate and phosphates are still widespread.
Rated 2026-09-02 from Jason's Deli's own 12-page "Jason's Deli Ingredients Statement May 17, 2026", a real manufacturer-style list for 250+ items, reached through the BigZpoon widget on their nutrition page. Seed oil: the mayonnaise is "Soybean Oil (Unrefined), Whole Eggs, Egg Yolk...", essentially every dressing lists soybean or canola oil in the top three, and essentially every bread lists soybean, canola or sunflower oil. There is no fryer on this menu at all and the chips are factory-bagged, so the seed oil comes from the spreads and the bread. Additives: their public claims hold up - trans fat, artificial colours, artificial flavours, MSG and HFCS really are gone - but the same document still shows carrageenan in 18 items, sodium benzoate in about 19, potassium sorbate in 14, phosphates in roughly 60 mostly deli meats, and BHA/BHT and azodicarbonamide in 2 each.
