Jack in the Box fries everything in a canola and soybean blend and brushes a soybean oil on every bun, egg and grilled item, so there is no seed-oil-free way to order. The bun alone carries soybean oil, sunflower oil, high fructose corn syrup and DATEM, though the beef patty itself is just beef.
Jack in the Box publishes a full ingredient and allergen guide dated June 2026, and it leaves no room for doubt. One fryer oil does every fried item - "Canola Oil, High Oleic Canola Oil, Soybean Oil and Dimethylpolysiloxane" - and a second soybean oil, the Butter Flavored Vegetable Oil, is brushed on every bun and used to cook the eggs, the grilled chicken and the grilled onions. The regular bun also has soybean oil, sunflower oil and high fructose corn syrup baked into it, plus DATEM, calcium peroxide and calcium propionate. Of 111 food components, 61 have direct seed oil exposure and 64 carry an additive; the ones that escape are lettuce, tomato, a cheese slice, a salt packet. The beef is genuinely just "Beef" and the smashed patty nearly so, which makes the bun and the sauce the whole problem. Artificial dyes are narrower than you would guess - only six items, including the pickles (Yellow 5).
