The base is genuinely short: Vanilla is cream, skim milk, cane sugar, egg yolks and vanilla extract, and Chocolate and Strawberry follow the same five-ingredient idea. Seed oils appear in 21 of the 58, and almost always in a coating, a cone piece or roasted nuts rather than in the ice cream itself - soybean in 9, safflower in 9, unspecified vegetable oil in 11. So the plain pints are clean and the bars and inclusion flavors are not. On additives it is unusually clean for a freezer aisle: across all 58 lists there are no artificial colors, no artificial flavors, no gums, no carrageenan, no mono- and diglycerides, no polysorbate 80, no HFCS and no TBHQ, BHA or BHT. What is there is soy lecithin in 28 items, and the only colors used are fruit and vegetable juices.
