What the score is made of

Four categories, weighted. Seed oils count three times as much as plastics or ultra-processing, so a poor seed-oil score pulls the overall number down hardest.

Seed oils in most dishes · Artificial additives throughout · Food comes premade

Read Dunkin's own 187-page Allergen and Ingredient Guide, dated July 2026. Seed oils are throughout: soybean oil turns up around 275 times and palm oil around 200, including in the donut dough itself, the icings and several drink bases, with canola, sunflower, cottonseed and corn oil also appearing. Artificial additives are just as widespread — artificial flavor, high-fructose corn syrup, potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate, TBHQ, polysorbate 60 and 80, propylene glycol, DATEM, caramel color and Yellow 5, Yellow 6 and Blue 1. The formulations themselves tell the story on freshness: yeast donut concentrates, mold inhibitors and shelf-stable syrups are what you use when food is made elsewhere and finished in the store. If you are avoiding seed oils or additives, there is very little here that clears the bar. I did not rate plastic contact — packaging materials are not published.

Plastic throw away cups and straws, plastic coated paper products.
