Blimpie publishes a full ingredient statement for everything they sell, and it shows soybean oil in 13 of their 14 breads and wraps, in the mayo and in every creamy dressing, with a canola oil blend poured straight onto the classic subs. The bread also carries DATEM, calcium propionate and sodium aluminum phosphate, and the salami carries BHA and BHT.

Read 22 August 2026. Seed oils are not avoidable here. 13 of the 14 breads and wraps list soybean oil; the exception, the Pretzel Roll, lists palm oil instead. All four tortilla wraps add a hydrogenated cottonseed or soybean oil on top. 15 of the 24 dressings and sauces list a seed oil, including Mayo, Buttermilk Ranch, Peppercorn Ranch, Caesar, Chipotle Mayo and all three Italians. The dressing simply called Oil has a one line statement: canola oil blend. The classic subs finish with canola oil poured on. On additives, every bread carries DATEM, calcium propionate, xanthan gum and sodium aluminum phosphate, the salami carries BHA and BHT, and the banana peppers and jalapenos carry Yellow 5. The one nice surprise is the Au Jus, which is made with beef tallow.
